Street Fayre 2011
Spring Bank Holiday Monday, 30th May 2011
As it has done for the past 10 years or so, the Rotary Club of Chippenham Wiltshire Vale promoted the Chippenham Street Fayre, an integral part of the 3 day Chippenham Folk Festival. The event took place in the High Street and the Market Place, Chippenham, and traders came from far and wide to sell their wares. Impromptu displays of Morris dancing added to the carnival atmosphere, and the income from renting stalls to traders benefitted the Folk Festival (itself a not-for-profit company) and other charities the club supports.

KidsOut Day
June 2010
The Rotary Club of Chippenham Wiltshire Vale is a keen participant in The Rotary KidsOut National Day Out. This is the largest single day out for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. Over 28,000 children from all over the country participate - thanks to over 750 Rotary Clubs throughout Great Britain and Ireland who work with local schools etc to make this happen.
This year, club members Graham Lindsey and Paul Thatcher and their wives, together with representatives from other Rotary clubs in the District, accompanied and transported a party of disabled children from the local area, to Longleat Safari Park, where a great time was had by all.
Grizzly Cub Run 2010
Sunday, 7th March 2010
Acting completely on their own initative, local Chippenham girls Emma Barry and Anna Ratcliffe ran the Grizzly Cub Run, a gruelling 9.3 mile multi-terrain run centred on the town of Seaton in Devon, on 7th March , and raised over £480 for the Rotary Club of Chippenham Wiltshire Vale in the process. The weather was perfect - clear blue sky and a bit of breeze - and, although Emma had only been running for long and Anna had not been in the best of health in the previous 12 months, they completed the course in an impressive 1 hour, 59 minutes, and 47 seconds. Emma said '"we wanted to raise money for a local charity so that people in the area would benefit from the money and we could see where the money was going, rather than a national charity were it gets absorbed into a bigger project or research". As a reward for their efforts, Emma and Anna have both been invited to one of the club's meetings where they will be wined and dined and be able to choose which of the charities the club supports, will benefit from their efforts.
